Emblem
The logo for Paris 2024 combines three separate symbols – the gold medal, the flame and Marianne, a symbol of France. Each of these symbols reflects different values.
The gold medal symbolizes achievement. By excelling themselves and improving their personal bests, Olympic athletes demonstrate that everyone has a chance of winning. The flame symbolizes the energy that drives the Games, encouraging the organizer to be bold and innovative. Marianne, a symbol of the French Republic, reflects the values of humanism, fraternity, generosityand sharing that are present in both sport and the Games.
It is also the first time in history the same emblem has been used for both the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games.
Mascot – Phryges
The Phryges, the official mascots of Paris 2024, are decked out blue, white and red - the colours of France’s famed tricolour flag. The Phryges are designed based on the famous Phrygian cap - a symbol of freedom in France.
The Phrygian cap has long been a familiar image in the country. It can be seen on French national icon Marianne, depicted in busts at town halls across the country and on stamps, and is also covered in the national curriculum in schools. According to the Paris 2024 Organising Committee, the Olympic Phryge is a thoughtful and astute strategist. She is modest with a sharp mind. Just like the Olympic athletes, she understands the importance of considering all the various parameters to achieve her goals. The Olympic Phryge will lead the movement of all those who take part in sport, and will give her all to get France moving.

The torch, a symbolic object of the Games, carries the Olympic spirit. The Paris 2024 Games torch embodies three themes: Equality, Water and Peacefulness.
The torch encapsulates equality through its perfectly symmetrical design. Paying tribute to the Seine, a famous river in Paris, the torch is adorned with wave-like, three-dimensional and vibration effects inspired by water. It reproduces the ripples and movements of water, in addition to the reflections of light on its surface. The torch, with its curves and rounded lines, is suffused with gentleness, reflecting the desire for peace.
